Overview

5th Middle East Paediatrics Conference 23rd - 25th January 2012

This Conference is an essential event for those individuals interested in learning about a wide variety of topics within Paediatrics. The agenda has been designed to enhance discussion and get speakers and delegates to work together to share ideas. The featured speakers will be coming from around the region and abroad, meeting to contribute their insights and valuable research.

The aim of this conference is to present the field of Paediatrics in a detailed, yet compressed manner. As this field is quite diverse, and features every aspect of medicine for children and babies, it is important to highlight the latest advances and hot topics.

At the 2012 Conference we will be focusing on topics such as infectious disease, developmental behavior and emergency medicine. There will also be new speakers coming from the US who are specialised in the field of neotalology, fetal research and oncology.

As well as having the state of the art lectures, there will also be three presentations centered on a debate topic. This will entail the speaker giving two sides of a controversial topic, in order to enhance discussion on the subject matter. The debate will follow the state of the art lecture every day and the topics to be discussed are:

1) How to investigate the first episode of UTI? A New Transatlantic Debate?
2) The Sun and the Skin: Truths, Myths and Misconceptions

State of the Art:

1) Link Between Eczema and Allergy
a. Dr. Peter Arkwright

2) Pneumococcus
a. Dr. Shabir A. Madhi

3) An Approach to Diagnosis and Management of Rickets

4) Recent Advances in Selective Paediatric Neuromuscular Diseases
