Word of the Chairman
Surgical oncology is not teaching surgeons how to operate; it is more a science of educating surgeons on how to approach cancer patients aiming to formulate a complex yet comprehensive formula of management according to the underlying disease, age, comorbidities and life style. The advances in the surgical oncology practice are based on successful multidisciplinary approach as well as incorporating the capacities and capabilities of the medical institutes available in the region. The primary objective of the 2nd Multi-Disciplinary Approach to Cancer Therapy Conference was to address cancer as a disease entity in the era of multidisciplinary therapy. The conference will cover the management of the most common cancer cases in the UAE, including Colorectal, GI, Breast and Sarcoma. Over the duration of 2 days; the conference will present valuable case studies and discussion panels to address the recent advances in cancer management in the fields of medical oncology, radiation therapy, and surgical oncology.
