BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING CONFERENCE

29 January 2018

Overview

Theme: Enhancing clinical outcomes through biomedical engineering and technology

Back by popular demand, the Biomedical Engineering conference joins the Arab Health congress as a one day scientific meeting, presenting the latest advancements in medical devices, imaging, the management of biomedical systems and healthcare informatics.

Free to attend, the Biomedical Engineering conference will allow delegates the opportunity to hear from renowned experts who will address the challenges and opportunities concerning the complex role of leadership within biomedical engineering. In addition, updates aligned to the regulation and assessment of medical devices will be discussed ensuring delegates are taking back best practice and optimal decisions relating to their role in biomedical engineering.

What are the main topics covered in this event?

  • Leadership in Biomedical Engineering
  • Biomedical Systems Management
  • Healthcare Informatics
  • Regulation & Assessment
  • Medical Devices & Imaging

If it is not a new event, what is different this time?

  • Involvement of more and different speakers, both from the UAE and outside of the region
  • Broader agenda topics that are attractive to both mid-level practicing biomedical engineers as well as senior biomedical engineers within management roles
  • Panel sessions incorporating perspectives from regulators and engineering governing bodies
  • All new main topic sessions

Benefits of Attendance

Upon completion of this activity participants will able to:

  • Identify challenges associated with leadership within biomedical engineering institutions, helping them recognize strategies that can be applied to aid in overcoming these issues, ultimately improving their management skills
  • Appraise the potential for healthcare informatics to improve the quality and safety of patient care
  • Describe the latest in state of the art medical devices and imaging technologies, to better enhance their biomedical engineering knowledge and ultimately to improve the efficacy of their medical institutions and laboratories
  • Review the latest guidelines for medical device regulation and assessment, from a regional and international perspective, to ensure appropriate conduct is upheld when concerning medical devices
  • Explore the role of biomedical systems management, to enhance the efficiency of institutions that utilize biomedical engineering facilities
