Abtrace Ltd – a UK healthtech start-up using machine learning and clinical innovation to reshape the delivery of primary care – are joining the UK Pavilion at Arab Health 2022 (24 – 27 January 2022) to launch a novel proactive monitoring system designed to empower patients with chronic conditions.

The innovative cloud-based software has been developed to track the conditions a patient has, the medications they take and the tests they have done with the aim to improve the management of chronic conditions, enabling it to move from a reactive, to a proactive process informed by data.

Built by healthcare professionals, the software allows GPs and healthcare assistants (HCAs) to make informed decisions, automate key elements of disease monitoring, and ensure patients receive effective care. Thus, it reduces clinical workload, as well as reducing administrative work needed to complete monitoring. For patients, the unique technology helps to improve health, reducing death, disability and hospital admissions resulting from delayed and missed monitoring.

Used by NHS primary care health centres, the system has been shown to improve the care delivered to patients whilst reducing costs to the health system. The Abtrace team has spent three years building state-of-the-art algorithms and connecting into existing healthcare systems to achieve UKCA and CE mark for the product as a certified medical device.

Dr Umar Naeem Ahmad, Abtrace CEO said: “Building on top of our integrated primary care product delivered to healthcare professionals, we are delighted to be launching a product to reach patients directly on their mobile devices. Patients will be able to see when they need to see their doctor for routine tests, and have overdue tests flagged for action. By putting the patient at the heart of the product, we aim to inform and empower the patient with the knowledge in a simple, accessible and clear format they can use to take control of their health. We look forward to joining the ABHI UK Pavilion at Arab Health 2022 to showcase how it can support patients globally.”

Abtrace’s new software has been developed as an intelligent platform on top of Electronic Health Records systems enabling actions based on an individual’s medical history in the context of a wider pool of data points validated against NHS approved clinical guidelines. The product has been growing fast, with the company working with over 75 centres in the UK. The technology is expected to impact 1 million patients in the UK by 2022.

Paul Benton, Managing Director, International at the ABHI added: “We are delighted that Abtrace have chosen to launch their innovative proactive monitoring system on the ABHI UK Pavilion. The company is committed to developing innovations that enhance patient care, and we look forward to supporting them in their goals at Arab Health 2022.”

Arab Health 2022 is taking place from 24 – 27 January 2022 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Throughout the show, Abtrace Ltd will be located on the ABHI UK Pavilion – Hall 2 H2. H50.
