EUROPEAN HEALTHCARE SMEs @ ARAB HEALTH 2018

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, also honoured the exhibitors with his visit of Arab Health 2018 on Wednesday 31st January.

BRUSSELS, Belgium – The European Union promoted its cutting-edge European healthcare SMEs at Arab Health 2018, from 29 January to 1 February in Dubai, UAE.

Highlights of the mission included an official opening with a visit of H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Minister of Finance and Industry of the UAE to the first ever European Pavilion at the trade fair, as well as several hundred business meetings with local, regional and global attendees at Arab Health. Visitors attended live demonstrations and joined discussions with the companies on the European Pavilion.
15 innovative companies from the EIC SME-Instrument are heading back to Europe with many contacts and leads following attendance of the Arab Health 2018 trade fair, which allowed them to gain insights into doing business in the UAE and the gulf region.

Andreas Krug (CEO & Co-founder of Decide Clinical, Austria) delivered a presentation on clinical decision making, at the Arab Health Business Forum. He highlighted how Glucotab provides support for nursing staff and physicians involved in the insulin therapy of patients with Type 2 Diabetes on hospital wards. Indeed, the system improves blood glucose management workflow and automatically suggests correct insulin dosages. 

Oncomark (Ireland) celebrated the completion of its Phase 2 project at Arab Health. After two years of intensive work, their OncoMasTR, a novel prognostic assay for early stage breast cancer, is ready for commercialization.

The attendance of Arab Health 2018 exceeded expectations. With more than 4,200 exhibiting companies from 150+ countries, including over 1000 European exhibitors, the European innovators were exhibiting in one of the leading healthcare trade shows in the world.  

Throughout the Overseas Trade Fairs programme’s first yearly cycle, an exclusive group of 86 European companies have participated, and held more than 1000 business meetings with selected counterparts at 7 major trade fairs around the world.
