Tell us about your organisation and its journey to date.

Dräger manufactures medical technology products. In doing so, we protect, support, and save people's lives worldwide in hospitals and emergency services.

As a specialist in Acute Care, Dräger is committed to supporting our customers in improving clinical outcomes, managing costs, enhancing patient experiences, and ensuring staff satisfaction. That is why, for over 133 years, we have been passionate about developing technologies, products, educational content, and services for acute care that can help you achieve your goals.

Founded in Lübeck in 1889, Dräger has grown into a worldwide, listed enterprise in its fifth generation as a family-run business. Dräger has more than 15,000 employees worldwide and is present in over 190 countries around the globe. In 2021, the company generated net sales of around EUR 3.3 billion.

How has the organisation evolved to address the challenges of an ever-changing healthcare sector? Please list some accomplishments.

Historically, Dräger managed the region out of the HQ from its direct export department. Over the years, we have invested in moving people into the Middle East, and now we have hundreds of employees in the region with several offices from culturally diverse backgrounds to increase customer intimacy and better understand the business dynamics of the region.

Give us an insight into your portfolio and solutions targeted at the Middle East region.

Dräger specialises in mid-range and high-end acute care solutions for the Operating Room, Intensive Care, Neonatal Care, Emergency Department and Patient Ward (Respiratory Care devices, Neonatal Resuscitation and Thermoregulation devices, and Patient Monitoring systems). We provide hospital connectivity solutions to improve patient safety, caregiver comfort and resource optimisation. Also, we support the entire lifecycle of our devices with accessories and consumables, services and training with respect to the total cost of ownership.

Tell us about your recent and upcoming investments and partnerships in this field.

Dräger recently invested heavily in connected maintenance, cloud solutions, and data analytics. In addition, we provide service and education through our different support offices and applications (educational app), and are partnering this year with the Intelligent Health Association to support the promotion of the "Smart Hospital". Furthermore, Dräger Accessories and Consumables solution services extended further to enhance the visibility and reach to customers with more trained personnel on the ground providing training and education, application support and business support.

What will you be showcasing at Arab Health 2023?

  • Protective therapies: Evita V800, Pulmovista in ICU, Babyroo TN300 (our new neonatal resuscitation and care device), Babyleo and VN800 in NICU.
  • Connected Technologies: Infinity Acute Care System, the new Core Application (our proof of concept for medical device interoperability at the bedside, based on the new SDC communication protocol), Mobile Patient Watch 2.0 (mobile application to see remotely and real-time the patient ventilation and monitoring data with visual alarms), and the Alarm Analytics Dashboards 2.0 (help to visualise and reduce the number of alarms in ICU).
  • Digital services: This is one of our major focuses. We will show the Drager Connect Platform for connected maintenance, which supports advanced analytics dashboards to optimise hospital investments and efficiency. The related dashboards are Devices Utilization Analytics, or companion (help to check the readiness of your entire anaesthesia workstation fleet in the morning) and Gas Consumption Analytics.
  • New Academy App to support remote quality education throughout the entire region.
  • The importance of using approved, tested and validated Accessories and Consumables, which are an essential part of unlocking the devices' full potential. Approved accessories and consumables would not only contribute to the precise delivery of therapy to the patient but also supports infection prevention, sustainability (environmental safety), workplace efficiency in managing the cost of care and patient safety, and staff safety and device safety.
  • Display of Dräger "Safety solutions for hospitals".

In addition to the above, what opportunities are you looking forward to at the upcoming event?

Arab Health always allows us to meet our customers and sales channel partners. It is an excellent foundation to meet everyone and share ideas on new trends, products, and case studies in the Healthcare industry.

We look forward to showcasing our vision for improving acute care and demonstrating our constant innovation in the growing digital transformation landscape, as well as providing insights into the Dräger solution approach and total cost of ownership to customers.

Please tell us about your plans for the year 2023.

In 2023, we will continue to get back to normality after the pandemic and invest in the region with our offices in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa to increase the intimacy with our customers and partners.
