Overview


Canon Medical aims to improve healthcare by providing solutions that allow medical professionals to determine the most effective treatment strategies for their patients by generating, integrating and processing all types of essential clinical information.

This workshop will inform the attendees of the latest clinical and workflow innovations within the Canon Medical Healthcare IT solutions - including Vitrea 3D/4D advanced visualization systems, Artificial Intelligence solutions, Global Illumination rendering – and the clinical experience and patient workflow benefits of these solutions in routine clinical practice.

Participants learn about the benefits of Canon’s Collaborative imaging solution including the delivery of integrated intelligence in every step of the patient’s care journey.

The post-processing section of the course will focus on the fundamentals of Canon Medical’s advanced visualization software. Leading experts in the field will share clinical experiences and practical benefits of a variety of Vitrea applications across a number of disciplines (oncology, cardiology, neurology, MSK, stroke, etc.)

The workshop also will include the unique opportunity to learn about Canon’s Artificial Intelligence program, including the use of AI in everyday clinical workflow to provide insights that were not previously possible.

The workshops are held every day between Monday 27 – Thursday 30 January, during the Total Radiology Congress.

Presenters:

Dr. Stefan M Niehues, Chief Medical Officer and Deputy Hospital Director, Campus Benjamin Franklin, Charité University Hospital.

Dr. Niehues is Deputy Chair of the Department of Radiology at Campus Benjamin Franklin of the Charité University Hospital in Berlin. With his focus on emergency imaging, especially CT, he was deeply involved in the recent setup of the emergency department and the integration of the radiology unit into the hospital’s clinical workflow. Besides CT imaging, Dr. Niehues has a keen interest in emerging technologies including new imaging strategies, which play a major role in daily routine, and the integration of high-end postprocessing tools to improve patient care. He has authored over 64 peer-reviewed articles and presented over 75 invited national and international lectures.


Dr. Ravi Shrestha, General Manager & Senior Director, Global Healthcare IT, Canon Medical

Dr. Shrestha has over 25+ years of experience in medical imaging and international healthcare. His proven leadership track record includes delivering globally as a co-founder, executive, and VP to drive strategy and growth of multinational companies in the US, Europe and Asia in medical informatics, 3D/4D imaging, AI and clinical systems innovation.

He received his PhD in Medical imaging informatics and business management from Imperial College London as an MIT Scholar and has authored multiple peer-reviewed papers and holds patents in medical standards and medical devices. His passion for making a difference with innovative healthcare solutions drives his daily actions and aspirations.
