Seminar 1 - Technology of Low dose CT images with AI
Akira Hasegawa, Algo Medica

Artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been widely applied in radiology field in the last several years.  FUJIFILM and AlgoMedica have developed AI-based denoising technology, FCT PixelShine, for CT images and have achieved both low dose but high image quality at the same time.  In the presentation, the AI-based CT denoising technology is going to be compared with the conventional iterative reconstruction technologies to show its advantages and benefits.  Also, by going through several clinical images, the power of AI technology will be demonstrated.

Learning objectives

  1. to learn about the advanced denoising technology
  2. to learn the possibility of low dose scans
  3. to understand how to compare denoising technologies

14:15 - 14:45

Seminar 2 - Clinical Advanced Workstation - Synapse 3D with AI
Respiratory Imaging Solution

Christophe Fleury, FUJIFILM Europe GmbH

FUJIFILM has developed our own advanced visualization workstation "Synapse 3D" in 2010, by using deep learning technology. Our high recognition accuracy of body parts, bones, organs, vessels are getting one of the best valuation in the world, and users are more than 2,000 site in the world. We shall demonstrate our respiratory imaging solution on Synapse 3D, which is widely used for evaluation of lung functionality, various simulation of procedures, like pre-operative simulation for partial resection for lung.

Learning objectives

  1. FUJIFILM's latest technology of 3D workstation by deep learning
  2. Valuable respiratory application of Synapse 3D

Seminar 4 - Future role of AI in Mammo screening programs
Dr Safaa Khalil, Al Qassimi Hospital for Women & Children

AI is becoming a major topic in the Healthcare industry, the radiology department had been always leading the innovation and technology in hospital, how deployment different AI modules can support radiologist. The presentation is showing retrospective studies of real cases of Mammography patients diagnosed by radiologists and how AI can help them to reduce the reporting time, find challenging cases that were missed in normal procedures (possibility to avoid biopsy ) and the value AI is adding in the radiology department especially in screening programs (early detection for breast cancer).

What Role AI can play in Screening Programs:

  1. Reducing false-negative cases, early cancer detection.
  2. Reduce reading time for the radiologist~ 25% less reading time.
  3. Reduce human errors by providing a 3rd opinion automated report.
  4. Quality assurance and quality control for reported cases.

13:25 - 13:55

Seminar 5 - Future of Radiology world with FUJIFILM
Henry Izawa, FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA, Inc.
