Dr. Ramadan AlBlooshi joined Dubai Health Authority (DHA) as a Senior Advisor to the DirectorGeneral. He will be working closely to deliver DHA’s projects both locally and internationally. Dr.Ramadan AlBlooshi is currently also managing Public Health in DHA.Prior to joining back in DHA.
Dr. AlBlooshi was the Chief Regulatory Officer (CRO), Dubai HealthcareCity Authority from 2014-2021. He heads Dubai Healthcare City Authority – Regulatory (DHCR),the independent regulator of the Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) free zone.
In his earlier role, Dr. AlBlooshi was the Director of the Health Regulation Department at DubaiHealth Authority where he played an active part in establishing clinical governance in the emirate.He was also tasked with leading medical tourism strategy and setting up policies in healthcarepractice in both government and private sectors.
His journey into governance was preceded by clinical roles - three years as internist with the UAEMinistry of Health and Prevention, and two years as a gastroenterologist at Rashid Hospital.In his career, he has demonstrated expertise in areas including registration and regulation of facilitiesand professionals; inspection of healthcare facilities; customer care; polices and standards;complaints management; health informatics; and medical tourism.
Dr. AlBlooshi holds a Masters’ degree in business administration (MBA) from the Zayed University,Abu Dhabi, and in Science (gastroenterology) from the Queen Mary University, London, UK. Inaddition, he holds an Executive Diploma in Public Administration from the National University ofSingapore.
He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). He is also aparticipant of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD), aninnovative leadership programme designed to develop future national leaders capable of promotingthe sustainable development of Dubai.
