Summary

Medical documentation is one of the main tasks of physician and takes up to 40% of their time. Currently a lot of medical documentation is stored as free-text and cross-industry studies show that on average, less than 1% of these data is used for further analysis. In this presentation, an overview is given how medical documentation is transformed by state-of-the-art AI-based technologies such as natural language understanding and data-driven decision making. These technologies speed up the documentation workflow, provide real-time data and make all data actionable, e.g., automatically triggering reminders for the patients for follow-up visits.
